Examples of Teaching Ideas/ Strategies
Time lapse photography

Work annotation

Specific skill modeling (eg using protractors in maths)

Good for eg science experiments so that all can view and from different angles

Relevance to Teachers
Very useful if you make the best of it. Basically like a digital OHP without the need for transparencies, just the actual document or object.

Can look at objects from different angles and up zoom features (depending on model) Can take pictures, useful for time lapse photography. Pens that work as an optical mouse available ($$$!!)

Summary

If you are able to get hold of a document camera/visualiser then it would be a great tool, especially if it was always set up to be used any time as appropriate It needs to be used with a data projector or large screen for better viewing It can be used via a computer (even better features if a touch screen) or directly to a data projector to use just to enlarge whatever is under the lens. One to put on the wish list! (They range from about $900 to $1600 depending on the model)
